Your voice can break the cycle of abuse - if you know how to use it. As a survivor and advocate, one of my greatest passions is equipping others to recognize abuse, respond with confidence, and walk alongside survivors on their healing journey. Through my speaking and advocacy work, I teach a simple but powerful framework that anyone can carry with them: A.C.T. NOW.
A.C.T. NOW: A Response Mnemonic
When someone confides abuse, ACT with purpose:
-
A: Acknowledge what you hear without judgement
-
C: Connect the person with an appropriate trusted adult
-
T: Be Trustworthy with the information
For survivors on the healing journey, ACT with Conviction:
-
A: Accept without blame. The harm you experienced was never your fault and does not determine your worth.
-
C: Cultivate courage and strength. Healing is a journey, moving at your pace. Your resilience is greater than your wounds.
-
T: Trust your voice. Sharing your story with someone safe breaks the chains of silence and can be the first step toward freedom.
I challenge you - wherever you are, whatever your role - to A.C.T.
The children in your community are counting on it.
My presentations deliver more than awareness -- they provide actionable tools for intervention
and recovery. I equip organizations with practical strategies that save lives and restore hope.
